1970年代の伝説の高校生フォークロックバンド「銀河鉄道」のリード・ヴォーカル、ヨシオ・J・マキ（牧良夫）の29年ぶりのソロアルバム “the first and the last”。銀河鉄道解散後1970年代後半、カリフォルニア州に移住、アメリカ人に帰化。以来、ロサンゼルスを中心に音楽・映像プロデューサー、アーティスト、ハリウッド俳優として現在も日米で精力的に活動中。1993年にMIDI, INC.からリリースされた1stソロアルバム「Over the Streams」同様、本アルバムも、ある人には懐かしく、またある人には新鮮なAORアルバムに仕上がっている。
The lead vocalist of the legendary 1970’s folk/rock band “Ginga Tetsudo", Yoshio J. Maki (a.k.a. Yoshio Maki) releases his long-awaited album, “The First and the Last", 29 years after his solo debut “Over the Streams". Following the breakup of Ginga Tetsudo, Yoshio moved to California in the late 70’s, becoming an U.S. citizen and actively working as a music and video producer, recording artist, and actor. Continuing in the AOR tradition of Over the Streams, his new album The First and the Last delivers a perfect blend of gentle nostalgia and fresh folk-jazz sound.
